Course information:
Second semester Advanced Biology will operate like a college level course. Students will be graded by assessments only! There are no points for homework. THERE WILL BE NO RETAKES ON ANY ASSESSMENTS!
Students will be expected to learn and comprehend the material and concepts presented in class. Each day in class is very important so absences and tardies will result in students falling behind with the material. IT IS YOUR JOB TO USE THE EXTRA RESOURCES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE TO LEARN THE MATERIAL AND NOT FALL BEHIND.
This semester, students will be able to apply the concepts and content with the complete dissection of a cat. Although a student does NOT have to dissect the cat, all students are responsible for the information. There will not be an actual grade for dissection, but multiple assessments will be given throughout the semester.
Each student is responsible for buying their own box of NON-LATEX surgical gloves. I will lock them in a drawer so they will be safe from theft. If students want to purchase a pair of gloves from the instructor, the cost is $1.00 a pair.
The rigor of this semester will add to the excitement and transition of seniors taking the next step to the college level and for juniors, it will teach the discipline needed for the AP level courses they may take as a senior.
